About photography & stock images

Photography and stock images on MultiVendor Market come straight from the people who made them: travel and lifestyle photographers, product shooters, texture hunters and retouchers who package their editing looks as presets. Instead of a giant anonymous library, you browse independent shops, see who took the photo and can message them about a specific shot, size or usage question before you buy.

The category covers single stock photos and curated bundles for websites, ads and print; abstract and photographic backgrounds; seamless and high-resolution textures for 3D and design work; desktop and phone wallpapers; and Lightroom and other editing presets that apply a consistent color grade to your own photos. Some collections are built specifically for commercial use, with releases and broader license terms included.

The most important detail on any image listing is the license. A personal license usually covers things like a desktop wallpaper or a school project, while commercial use — marketing, client work, products for sale — needs terms that say so. Photos showing recognizable people or private property should come with model or property releases for commercial use. Each listing has a free preview so you can check composition, color and quality before downloading the full-resolution file.

Buying stock photos and image files

  • Read the license on the listing: personal use, commercial use, or an extended license for products for resale, print runs or templates.
  • For commercial projects showing recognizable people, homes or private property, check that the seller has model or property releases.
  • Confirm the resolution and pixel dimensions are large enough for your use — a web banner and a printed poster need very different files.
  • Check the file format: JPEG for everyday use, TIFF or PNG for print and transparency, RAW or DNG only if you plan to edit yourself.
  • Use the free preview to judge color, sharpness and crop, then message the seller if you need a different orientation or size.

Questions about photography & stock images

What does royalty-free mean for a stock photo?

Royalty-free generally means you pay once for a license and can use the image under its terms without paying per use. It doesn't mean free of cost or free of rules — the license still sets limits, such as whether you can use it in products for resale.

Can I use these images for my business?

Only if the license covers commercial use. Each listing states its license terms; if your use isn't clearly covered, message the seller before you buy.

How do I get the files after I buy?

Digital downloads are available as soon as your purchase is complete, so you can download the full-resolution files right away.

Why do model and property releases matter?

A release is permission from a person shown in a photo, or the owner of a recognizable property, for the image to be used commercially. Without one, using the image in advertising can create problems, so check before using people-focused photos in marketing.
