A breathing session is a guided class focused on how you breathe. A facilitator walks the group through specific patterns, timing and pauses, often with music or quiet in between, and explains what each technique is meant to feel like. Sessions can be short and practical, such as a lunchtime reset, or longer, more immersive journeys.
Techniques vary from slow, extended exhales and box breathing for calm, to paced breathing for focus, to more active rhythmic breathing styles that can feel intense. Some sessions pair breathwork with gentle movement, meditation or relaxation; others focus on a theme like sleep, stage nerves or recovery after training.
On MultiVendor Market, each facilitator describes their approach, intensity and what attendees should expect, and you can message them before registering. Online sessions run on the organizer's own video tool, with the link emailed only to registered attendees.
Breathwork is not medical treatment. Some techniques can cause lightheadedness or tingling. Never practice in water or while driving, breathe normally if you feel unwell, and check with a health professional first if you are pregnant or have heart, lung, blood pressure, seizure or mental health concerns.
Choosing a breathwork session
- Calming sessions with slow breathing suit beginners; active or intense styles are better once you know how your body responds.
- Read the description for warnings about who should not take part, and take them seriously.
- Practice lying down or seated somewhere safe, never in a bath, pool or vehicle.
- Ask the facilitator about their training and how they support people who feel overwhelmed.
- Use headphones for online sessions so you can hear timing cues clearly.
- You can always return to normal breathing; good facilitators say so at the start.
Questions about breathing sessions
Is breathwork safe for everyone?
Not every technique suits every person. If you are pregnant or have heart, lung, blood pressure, seizure or mental health concerns, check with a health professional first and tell the facilitator. This is not medical advice.
What should I have ready for an online breathing session?
A quiet, comfortable place to sit or lie down, a blanket, water and headphones. Silence notifications so you are not interrupted.
What is the difference between breathwork and meditation?
Meditation usually observes the breath as it is; breathwork deliberately changes its pace or pattern. Many sessions combine both.
How do I get the session link?
