Vehicle detailing products clean, correct and protect paint, glass, wheels and interiors. A typical exterior wash uses a pH-neutral car shampoo, a pre-wash snow foam, wash mitts and the two-bucket method to avoid swirl marks. Decontamination removes bonded dirt with clay bars or clay mitts and iron fallout removers, and dedicated wheel and tire cleaners tackle brake dust.
Paint correction uses cutting compounds and finishing polishes with dual-action or rotary polishers and foam, microfiber or wool pads to remove swirls and light scratches. Protection then comes from carnauba waxes, synthetic sealants, spray sealants or ceramic coatings, each trading ease of use against durability. Interiors use upholstery and carpet cleaners, leather cleaners and conditioners, plastic dressings, glass cleaner and soft detailing brushes.
Quality microfiber towels matter as much as the products. Follow product labels and safety information, work out of direct sun on cool panels, and test any new product on a small, hidden area first.
Choosing detailing products

Questions about vehicle detailing
Wax, sealant or ceramic coating — what's the difference?
Wax gives a warm gloss and is easy to apply but wears faster. Synthetic sealants last longer. Ceramic coatings form a durable layer but need careful paint prep and application, often with curing time.
Do I need a machine polisher?
For removing swirls and scratches, a dual-action polisher makes the job far easier and safer for beginners. For applying wax or sealant, hand application works well.
How do I avoid scratching my paint when washing?
Use a pre-wash, a clean mitt, two buckets with grit guards, plenty of shampoo and soft microfiber drying towels, and wash from top to bottom.
