About digital cameras

Digital cameras on MultiVendor Market include mirrorless bodies, DSLRs, compact and bridge cameras, and older digital models with a following of their own. Independent camera shops and photographers selling their kit list bodies, lenses, flashes, grips, bags and memory cards, often with detailed notes on how the gear has been used.

If you already own lenses, the lens mount decides which bodies make sense. If you're starting out, a kit with a general-purpose zoom is an easy way in, while a body-only listing suits photographers who want to choose their own glass. Compare sensor size, autofocus, video features and handling, and think about which lenses you will want next.

Used cameras are a smart way to get more camera for your budget. Ask for the shutter count, look at the seller's photos of the sensor, rear screen and lens glass, and check for haze, fungus or scratches on lenses. Confirm what's included, such as battery, charger, strap and caps, and whether the seller offers returns on used gear.

Buying a digital camera

  • Decide body only or kit with lens — and check the lens mount if you already own lenses.
  • For used bodies, ask about the shutter count, sensor condition and any repairs.
  • Check what's included: battery, charger, strap, body cap.
  • Look at the seller's photos of the sensor, lens glass and screen.
  • Ask about returns or a test period for used gear.

Questions about digital cameras

Should I buy a mirrorless camera or a DSLR?

Both take excellent photos. Mirrorless cameras tend to be smaller and offer electronic viewfinders; DSLRs use optical viewfinders and have large used-lens ecosystems. Your existing lenses often decide it.

What should I check on a used lens?

Look for scratches, haze, fungus and dust inside the glass, smooth focus and zoom rings, and working autofocus. Ask the seller for clear photos with light shining through the lens.

Can I buy a camera body without a lens?

Yes. Many sellers offer body only and kit options on the same listing, each with its own price.
