AWS courses teach you to build and run applications on Amazon Web Services, one of the major public cloud platforms. They range from introductions for non-technical roles to deep, hands-on courses for architects, developers and operations engineers.
Core service modules typically cover IAM users, roles and policies; EC2 instances, AMIs and auto scaling; S3 buckets, storage classes and permissions; VPCs with subnets, route tables, security groups and gateways; managed databases with RDS and DynamoDB; Lambda for serverless functions; and load balancing and DNS. Monitoring lessons introduce CloudWatch metrics, logs and alarms, along with CloudTrail for auditing.
Intermediate and advanced courses cover designing for high availability across availability zones, infrastructure as code with CloudFormation or other tools, containers on AWS, event-driven architectures, security practices like least privilege and encryption, and cost management with budgets and tagging. Many courses align with AWS certification exam domains.
Most labs can run in a free-tier account, but some services aren't free, so careful courses teach budget alerts and cleanup from day one. Independent courses are not official AWS training.
Choosing an AWS course
- Match the course to your role: foundational, architect, developer or operations.
- Look for a lab on setting up billing alerts and securing the root account before anything else.
- Make sure IAM and VPC networking are explained thoroughly; they cause the most confusion.
- If you're preparing for an exam, compare the outline with the current exam guide.
- Check how recently the course was updated, since console screens and services change.
Questions about aws
Can I learn AWS for free?
You'll need to pay for the course, but many labs can run within AWS's free tier. Some services cost money even at small scale, so set a budget alert and delete resources after each lab.
Do I need experience before learning AWS?
Foundational courses need none. Architect and developer courses are easier with basic Linux, networking and scripting knowledge.
Is this official AWS training?
No. Courses on MultiVendor Market are created by independent instructors and are not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon.
